Amazon_Pricing Tactics

The $100 Million Lesson Every Entrepreneur Needs to Know. Amazon once deliberately lost $100 million in 3 months. In 2009, Diapers Diapers.com was crushing it: → $100M+ annual revenue → $300M valuation → Loyal customer base → Growing fast in baby products Amazon's response? "We want to buy you." Diapers.com said no. Big mistake. What happened next was business warfare at its most ruthless: ✨Amazon deployed pricing bots to track every Diapers.com price change ✨ Instant undercutting by 30%+ on every product ✨ $100M quarterly loss budget just to destroy one competitor ✨ Launch of "Amazon Mom" on the morning of acquisition talks The message was crystal clear: "Sell to us, or we'll price diapers at zero." The result? ✨ Quidsi (Diapers.com parent) sold to Amazon for $550M in 2010 ✨ Amazon shut down Diapers.com in 2017 citing "lack of profitability" The brutal lesson: Sometimes competition isn't about being better. It's about having deeper pockets and the willingness to use them as weapons. For entrepreneurs: • Build moats that go beyond pricing • Understand your competitor's war chest • Know when David vs Goliath isn't a fairy tale This isn't just about diapers. It's about how market dominance really works in the digital age. What's your take? Brilliant strategy or anti-competitive behavior? P.S. - This reminds me of India's telecom price wars. Same playbook, different industry. #Entrepreneurship #BusinessStrategy #Amazon #Competition #Startups #Leadership #Entrepreneur #PricingWars #JeffBezos #strategy #founder

Why I STARTED a Podcast for My Business and You Should Too

Ever wondered how a traditional business can build a standout brand in a crowded market? In this video, I share a real-world case study of our client in wood manufacturing who successfully used podcasting to differentiate and attract high-value clients. We'll explore how you can apply these principles, especially in industries like Real Estate or Interiors where B2B efforts can also attract a B2C audience. Here’s what you'll discover: ✨The Podcast-as-a-Magnet Strategy: Learn how to use your podcast to not only share expertise but also to attract and feature industry giants (like Prestige or Brigade in real estate), leveraging *their* network for *your* growth. ✨ Podcasting for Distribution: Understand why we see podcasts primarily as a "distribution" channel and how to maximize its reach. ✨ Why YouTube is KING (Especially for Real Estate):** I'll explain why YouTube is the #1 platform you should focus on, even over LinkedIn for B2B in many cases. ✨ The Repurposing Flywheel: Learn how to create core content on YouTube, chop it into Shorts, and then distribute it across LinkedIn and Instagram for maximum impact. ✨ The Ideal Content Length: Find out the "sweet spot" for podcast and video duration today (hint: it's likely shorter than you think – we aim for 15-18 minutes!). If you're looking to build your brand, differentiate your business, and generate leads through smart content marketing, these insights are pure gold. Understanding the Secrets of the LinkedIn Algorithm

Understanding the Secrets of the LinkedIn Algorithm

During a chat with one of the real estate startup founders, I remembered "REACH" was the biggest LinkedIn challenge when I transitioned from corporate life to entrepreneurship. So this is an excerpt from the chat detailing what I did then. I had around 4,500 connections on LinkedIn, but I noticed that when I shared insights about entrepreneurship, the engagement was minimal. It was basically because it wasn't something they connected with. So, I made a bold move and pruned my connections down to less than 1,000. It was tough, but it allowed me to focus on quality over quantity. Fast forward to today, I'm nearing 9,000 connections again, and the engagement is so much better! If you want LinkedIn to be a valuable resource for you, consider doing the same. The algorithm has evolved; it’s more interest-based now, similar to TikTok. And though your posts can go viral even with zero followers if they resonate with the right audience, you still need to be careful that you've got an interest-based audience. Remember, consistency is key! If you're passionate about real estate or any other niche, keep your content focused on that area. Engage with like-minded professionals and build your ecosystem. You can connect with about 100 people a week - just make sure they're aligned with your goals! Reach out if you want to have a quick 15-minute chat! #leadership #branding #marketing #sales #outreach #salestraining #pr #startup #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship #founder #personalbranding #linkedin #socialmediamarketing #algorithm
